You will join a group of other registered social workers to undertake the MALD® certified training to become a MALD assessor. MALD® Training Course – Terms and Conditions
1. General Attendance Requirements
Cancellation charges apply as outlined below. Delegates are expected to make every effort to attend the full two‑day training programme (with cameras on) unless exceptional circumstances prevent attendance.
If you are unable to attend any scheduled training dates, you must notify the Company as soon as possible by emailing Team@MALDportal.co.uk.
We will endeavour to offer alternative dates; however, this is subject to availability. Courses are often fully booked, and there may be a waiting period to complete missed modules or training days.
If a delegate cancels their place and the Company cannot agree or offer alternative dates, all tools and materials previously issued must be returned within 5 working days.
In cases of non‑attendance, no refund can be issued. Delegates must return the full toolkit within 5 working days, using a tracked delivery service and covering all postage costs.
Delegates will only be registered as MALD® Assessors once the full two‑day training course has been completed. MALD® tools and materials must not be used with families unless the delegate is a qualified MALD® Assessor and has completed Company training.
2. Purchase Order Numbers
If your organisation requires a purchase order number, this must be provided at the time of booking.
3. Cancellation, Refund and Substitution Policy
Due to high demand and the significant preparation required for each programme, the following policy applies once enrolment has been confirmed.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to Team@MALDportal.co.uk.
3.1 Cancellations Made More Than One Calendar Month Before the Programme
You may cancel your registration and receive a full refund.
Any toolkits issued must be returned within 5 working days to the Company’s business address using Royal Mail Signed For delivery.
Alternatively, you may request a transfer to the next available course or a different programme.
3.2 Cancellations Made Less Than One Calendar Month Before the Programme
Full course fees are payable, and transfers to alternative courses are not permitted. Any issued toolkits must be returned within 5 working days to the Company’s business address using Royal Mail Signed For delivery.
You may substitute your place with another delegate up to 7 days (5 working days) before the programme start date, subject to Company approval.
A £20 administration fee applies to substitutions.
3.3 Non‑Attendance
If you fail to attend without prior notification, full course fees will be charged.
All toolkits must be returned within 5 working days via Royal Mail Signed For delivery.
3.4 Withdrawal After Starting the Course
If you begin the course but are unable to complete it, no refund can be issued.
You will not be registered as a MALD® Assessor unless all modules are completed in full.
The Course Facilitator will maintain a record of delegate engagement and understanding.
If concerns arise, the Company will notify you in writing. The Company must be satisfied that all delegates can uphold MALD® principles and standards in order to sign off delegates are MALD® Assessors.
4. Delegate Substitution
To substitute your place, email Team@MALDportal.co.uk with full details of the replacement delegate.
Requests must be made no later than 7 days (5 working days) before the course start date.
5. Deferment or Extension
Deferment or extension may be granted only in exceptional circumstances that prevent attendance within expected timeframes.
Requests should be submitted as early as possible to Team@MALDportal.co.uk, outlining the grounds for the request.
6. Delegate Conduct
The Company is committed to providing high‑quality training for all delegates.
(MALD) Specialist Social Work Training Ltd. reserves the right to refuse access to its facilities or training where a delegate engages in behaviour that is threatening, bullying, harassing, or disruptive towards other delegates or MALD® trainers.
The Company will not be liable for any losses or expenses (including accreditation fees or consequential damages) incurred as a result of exclusion.
7. Changes to Course Dates by the Company
(MALD) Specialist Social Work Training Ltd. will make every effort to honour all advertised courses and dates.
Courses require a minimum number of delegates. If minimum numbers are not met, or if disruption occurs due to sickness, absence, or speaker unavailability, the Company may alter the schedule or cancel the course.
Where cancellation is necessary, the Company will endeavour to provide 14 days’ notice.
Delegates with confirmed bookings will be offered alternative dates or, if none are available, a full refund of course fees.
8. Personal Data
By participating in training, you consent to the processing of your personal data for registration and programme administration.
Separate consent will be requested for photographs.
